Sniplet 40. Hell Freezes Over

Winter had come to the Principality at last, and the ground was carpeted in white, fluffy snow. Clad in sweaters, coats, hats and scarves, the four children of Prince Sebastian made their way out into the cold to have some winter fun. Daniys was ready for a snowball fight. Lukas was ready to go back inside. Cassandra was going to build a snowman, and Xander was going to die.
The tiefling's hooves had little traction on the slippery ice, and so he stayed in the thickest parts of the snow. There, it wasn't pleasant, but at least there was less risk of falling. Daniys pointed to an enormous mound of snow. "Look! We can have a snowball fight there."
"I do not wish to have a snowball fight." replied Xander, trying to bury deeper into his thick woolen sweater. "Leave me out of it."
"Wow Xanxan, you're no fun." said Daniys, sticking her tongue out at her sibling. "Cassie, Lukas, you can be on one team, and I'll be the other!"
Cassandra smiled and glanced at Xander. then back to Daniys. "Or we can all be on one team."
Daniys paused. "Against- oh!" The siblings exchanged grins as they began to make snowballs. Xander tried to find a stable place to stand and watch them.
He didn't know why his father had made him go outside with his siblings. It wasn't sibling fun, it was hell, and not the good sort, either. It was hell like hours at a temple of Kalev, hell like listening to a lecture on proper horn maintenance. Xander finally found what he thought was a good place to stand. There.
"Alright, fire!" Xander shrieked in horror as dozens of snowballs were thrown at him by his three siblings. Why?! Why was this happening? Xander let out a final scream as one hit him squarely in the chest, and he took a step back, then slipped on the ice. He fell on the ice, and tried very hard not to cry.
The ice was so cold on his back, and to add insult to injury, Daniys kept pelting snowballs at him. Xander began to wail, and in a golden flash of light, the siblings' father appeared.
"Oh darling, what's wrong?" asked Sebastian, kneeling down to comfort his sobbing son. "Are you alright?"
"THey threw snowballs at me even though I didn't want them to! And then I slipped and fell on the ice."
Sebastian shot a quick look at his other children. "Darlings! What did we say about doing things that other people don't want you to do?"
"It was just a game." said Daniys. "It's not our fault he didn't have any fun."
Xander continued wailing as his father stroked his horns. "Oh, you poor thing, let's go inside. We can get you some nice hot cocoa and we can look at your poor hooves."
"Can I come inside too?" asked Lukas.
Sebastian shook his head, "No. As punishment for throwing snowballs at your brother, you will have to spend two more hours outside."
Daniys smiled. This was hardly a punishment at all! Lukas tried very hard not to react. Cassandra was fine either way.
Sebastian carried Xander inside, where he was given hot cocoa, and his father looked over his hooves, making sure that none of them were chipped or cracked. Xander only mildly resented being treated like a child, which he technically was.
